Delete your Manguage data

Manguage (“the app”) does not require you to create an account with your name, email address, or phone number. When you use the optional friend referral or team features, an anonymous identifier (Firebase Anonymous Auth) is created solely to provide those services.
How to delete your data from the app
You can delete your online data and de-identify retained records directly from within the app using the “Delete referral data” option. Although titled “Delete referral data” in the current app interface, this action performs a complete online purge: it deletes your anonymous account, team memberships, and push notification tokens, as well as referral records.
- Open Manguage.
- Open Settings.
- Select “Invite Friends” (subtitle: 10 manga slots for both).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap “Delete referral data” (card with the red trash can icon).
- In the confirmation dialog (“Delete referral data?”), select “Delete referral data” to confirm.
- When the message “Referral data deleted” appears on screen, the deletion or de-identification process on the server is complete.
1. What data is deleted
Performing the deletion action above removes the following data from our servers (Firebase):
- Firebase Anonymous Account: Your authentication account credentials (
user.delete()) - Friend referral data: Invite codes you generated and redemption records for referral bonuses you claimed
- Team data: Your team memberships, automatic departure from teams (removal from member lists and member counts; closing the team if you were the last member), unused team invite codes you generated, unacknowledged reward grants, and team block settings
- Push notification tokens: FCM push notification tokens stored in Firebase for team notifications
2. Data that remains on your device
The following data is stored exclusively on your device’s local storage and is never sent to our servers. As a result, it remains on your device after deleting online data:
- Flashcards, vocabulary cards, and decks saved on your device
- Study history (SRS review logs), XP, streaks, and learning settings
- Manga photos and imported images saved on your device
- Offline dictionary and translation model packs
To delete data stored locally on your device, uninstall the app from your device, or delete individual cards and decks inside the app.
3. Retained records and retention period
To prevent abuse and maintain system security, only the following minimal records are retained in a de-identified state:
- Referral bonus duplicate-redemption prevention: When a friend you invited claims a bonus, the redemption record (
referralClaims) is retained to prevent duplicate claims. The inviter UID is replaced withdeleted, completely de-identifying the record. - Report abuse prevention: If you report an inappropriate team name, the report record (
teamReports) is retained to prevent abuse and ensure community safety. The reporter UID is replaced withdeleted, completely de-identifying the record. - Retention period: Our current system does not set an automatic deletion expiration (TTL) on these de-identified records.
4. Processing timeframe
When you tap “Delete referral data” in the app, the deletion or de-identification process on the server is completed as soon as the confirmation notification appears on screen.
5. If you no longer have access to the app
Manguage does not collect your name, email address, or phone number for account registration, and anonymous identifiers (UIDs) are not linked to any personal information.
Consequently, once you uninstall the app, it is impossible to identify your anonymous UID from a name or email address. Please understand that our support team cannot look up or manually delete individual records upon email request. Please ensure you perform the deletion action from within the app prior to uninstalling.
